I grew up in Major Blue Chip retail companies such as Tesco, M&S and John Lewis renowned for their quality and integrity. I started at the bottom and worked my way up to the most senior level, gaining experience primarily in retail operations but also in many other disciplines including HR, Head Office roles and recruitment. This is a factor that really sets us apart from our competitors as this hands on understanding and knowledge of the workings of a retail business allows me to identify great retail talent. Very few of our competitors have actually worked in retail to this extent or have this experience and depth of understanding of working with quality retailers and with that culture in my DNA I have observed many aspects of retail recruitment that need a refreshing change. For a long time retail management recruitment has been an area dominated by the long established businesses that have equally employed long established methods and most importantly to clients, long established high fee structures that have perpetuated a fat cat culture and complacency.
I have worked in retail recruitment for many years and regardless of what you may have been told there is no unique or exclusive process used by any recruiter. All recruiters broadly use the same methods and techniques to source candidates. The difference is in the delivery, quality and cost of that service and as I have the same access to the most extensive network of contacts and captains of industry it just does not make sense to me why clients would choose to pay high consultancy fees with the well known consultancies.
I am keen to respond to clients needs to budget their recruitment costs.
